‘Warhammer 40,000’ Animated Series in Development at Amazon, Henry Cavill to Produce (EXCLUSIVE) – Variety
A “Warhammer 40,000” animated event series is in development from Amazon MGM Studios, Blur Studios, and Games Workshop, Variety has learned exclusively.
In addition, Henry Cavill — who is attached to lead a live-action “Warhammer 40,000” series currently in development at Amazon — will executive produce the animated series as well. It is being developed alongside the live-action project.
The animated project will serve as a spinoff of the Amazon animated anthology series “Secret Level,” which featured a “Warhammer 40,000” episode when it debuted in late 2024. Blur Studios produced “Secret Level,” while Games Workshop is the manufacturer behind the tabletop miniature wargame.
Dave Wilson, who directed the “Warhammer 40,000” episode of “Secret Level” and served as the show’s supervising director, is the co-creator and director of the new animated series. He is developing it alongside John Orloff (“Masters of the Air,” “Band of Brothers”).
Exact plot details are under wraps, aside from the fact the series will feature The Deathwatch, an elite group of Space Marines that specialize in hunting down alien threats.
