New leaks cover iPhone Ultra timing, iPhone Pro’s design next year – 9to5Mac

New leaks have just been shared on when to expect iPhone Ultra, and the unique design of next year’s 20th anniversary iPhone models.

The years of Apple shipping iPhones that look nearly identical each year are over—at least for now.

Recent design innovation kicked off with last year’s bold iPhone 17 Pro design and the futuristic iPhone Air. But there are bigger changes coming both this fall and next.

This fall, the first foldable model will launch: iPhone Ultra.

Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital shared an encouraging production update on the foldable over the weekend.

In his post, he says there’s been no delay to the iPhone Ultra. Though there was an issue scaling production initially, that has reportedly been resolved. And very recently, at the end of July, the production line setup was completed.

In a separate post, the leaker shared an interesting update on next year’s 20th anniversary iPhone. He says it:

  • maintains the thinness of iPhone Air
  • returns to glass construction
  • has an enlarged vapor chamber

This raises more questions than it answers. Prior reporting indicates this 20th anniversary design will apply to next year’s Pro models. But having an Air-like thinness wouldn’t make sense for the Pro line.
